So far this year- as of July 14- DEP issued 3,535 formal notices of violation to conventional operators (108 more since last week) and 795 to unconventional shale gas operators (34 more this week) based on 8,428 inspections of conventional facilities and 13,498 inspections of unconventional shale gas facilities.
